Important Reminders

Kindergarten highly encourages that students read at home daily for at least 20 minutes.  Students bring home 2 books on their independent reading levels each day. 

Every Monday, students receive 5 weekly sight word cards that are kept in their reading bags for the week.  Please practice these weekly words at home everyday so that students are able to recall their words the following Monday.  Sight words are extremely important for early readers and are the most common words that students come across in their beginning reader books.  

Some students also have an ABC chart in their reading bags.  These students are still working on recognizing their letters and identifying and producing letter sounds.  Please make sure to be practicing letters at home. 

Please send a water bottle with your kindergartener to school every day.
